Manage an account after death

If you've recently experienced the death of your spouse, partner, or family member, please accept our condolences. 

Here is some helpful info you'll need to manage their account(s) and please notify us as soon as you can. Information that you'll need when you notify us of a death:

Participant info:

  • Full name
  • Social Security number or account number
  • Date of birth
  • Date of death
  • Former employer of deceased

Your info:

  • Full name
  • Phone number, including area code
  • Address
  • Your relationship to the deceased
  • The deceased's address
  • Contact information for potential beneficiaries and other relatives

In addition, you’ll need to submit a copy of the death certificate.

What happens next?

We'll contact you as soon as we receive the official death notification. Then, we'll make arrangements to transfer funds from the account(s) to the new beneficiary account(s).
